Denise has been writing professionally since 2000 and was first published in School Library Journal, several Catholic periodicals and in children's magazines, including Scholastic. She began writing for The Goshen News in 2001 as a correspondent and columnist. She also began writing for Today's Catholic in 2001. She has two grown sons and daughters-in-law and five grandchildren, all who live out West.
