Holy Eucharist Art Show
7:00pm-9:00pm
Garrett
Cost: Free
The art show is open to everyone and all are invited to submit their creation which will be collected on February 24 and 25.
The Show will open on March 1 at 7 p.m. with refreshments and we will have an inspirational speaker 7:10-7:30. At 7:30 an art piece will be unveiled that is being created for/of the parish. Everyone will be invited to make a mark with paint on the piece. It is a 5’x7′ work that will ultimately be hung in the school. Then everyone will be able to walk through the gallery of art.
The show will close Monday evening with a reception after the closing of our 40 hours devotion. We will have art pieces by local artists that will be raffled and put in a silent auction.
Help our parish celebrate the joy, peace, and love poured out in the Eucharist by our Heavenly Father. We will be holding a Eucharistic Art Fair for the entire family. We invite everyone, regardless of age, to spend some time in prayer discerning what the Eucharistic means to them. Then, using whatever medium chosen, create a piece of art to be displayed. Mediums could include (but certainly are not limited to) clay, paints, papier mache, sketches, collages, abstract pieces, crayon art, music, poetry, etc.. Included with your piece should be a brief description of the piece. All individuals and families are encouraged to participate.
Art should be turned in by February 25th. There will be a preview night on Friday, March 1st. The actual Art Fair will coincide with the 40 hours of Eucharist Adoration from March 2nd- March 4th in the St. Joseph’s School gymnasium.

Blessed Solanus Francis Casey blessed the people of Huntington and Fort Wayne-South Bend area 🙏 for 10 years, 1946-1956, before his passing on July 31, 1957. This year the Father Solanus Guild – Huntington Extension is celebrating the 120th Anniversary of his Ordination to the Priesthood, which began with his Profession as a Deacon on March 20, 1904. Many have received his intercession prayers, blessings and favors, his words and wisdom. In thanksgiving and gratitude to God, Fr. Solanus requested prayer🙏, an act of kindness ❤️, and a sacrificial gift of charity 🎁. He encouraged donations to the Seraphic Mass Association to support the Capuchin Missions. With our crosses and sufferings this Lent, and honoring 🎖 Blessed Solanus on March 20th, Wednesday this week, join Fr. Solanus Guild and Friends at St. Felix Catholic Center at 6:30pm to 🙏 pray the Canonization Prayer for the Cause of Sainthood for Blessed Solanus (he needs just one more miracle accepted by the Vatican). “Crosses – the best school wherein to learn appreciation for the love ❤️ of Jesus crucified, the Divine Lover of our souls.”

A Theology of Migration: The Bodies of Refugees and the Body Of Christ
7:00pm-12:00am
Notre Dame
Cost: Free and Open to the Public
Daniel G. Groody, CSC, will offer the fourth in a six-part lecture series called “The Only Solution is Love: The Eucharist and Catholic Social Teaching.” This fourth lecture, titled “A Theology of Migration: The Bodies of Refugees and the Body Of Christ,” reframes migration through a Eucharistic narrative, rather than the usual political, social, and cultural narratives, aligning the outer journey of migrants, the inner journey of faith, and the divine journey of Christ into our world and back to God. It explores the Body of Christ as encountered inside a Church building in the sacrament of the Eucharist, and also as encountered outside of it in the least and last among us (Mt 25:31-46). In the context of the global migration and refugees crisis, it shows the ways the divine and human intermingle on our earthly pilgrimage, transforming us into the image and likeness of God, so that we become bread for the world through the works of mercy.

FEMM Expert (for young adult women)
7:00pm-8:00pm
Notre Dame
Cost: Free
If you are a young adult woman interested in learning more about what a healthy fertility cycle looks like and how to track your biomarkers, please join us for a free, four-session workshop series on the campus of Saint Mary’s College. There is no need to register. The third session in the series, FEMM Expert, is described below. Co-sponsored by Marriage & Family Ministry, Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend, and the Department of Nursing Science, Saint Mary’s College. For more information, including directions on where to park, please visit www.diocesefwsb.org/femm.
Participants learn to understand the cycle—both its biomarkers and the underlying hormonal activity—as an indicator of their overall health. They are taught the phases of the cycle with an emphasis on the time of ovulation, the dominant hormonal activity in each phase, and what observations within each phase are necessary for a woman to be considered healthy. Attention is given to the understanding of the cycle as a holistic fertile process, which is fundamental to understanding cycle variations. The session includes analysis of various cycle types, including those of health concern. Exercises, Q&A, and case studies accompany this session. Presenters will be available at the end of the session to meet individually with each participant to review her personal chart. Refreshments will be served after the workshop.

Fruit of the Earth and Work of Human Hands: Eucharist as Integral Ecology
4:30pm-5:45pm
Notre Dame
Cost: Free and open to the public
Dr. Emmanuel Katongole will highlight the connections between Eucharist and ecology with a view of making two interconnected claims, namely (1) that an adequate understanding of the Eucharist intensifies and shapes the Christian responsibility for the care of Our Common Home, and (2) that efforts for the care of our Common home are Eucharistic in more than a symbolic sense. They are truly a sacrament (sign and reality) of God’s love for the earth. Drawing from the work of Bethany Land Institute in Uganda, he will display the dynamic relationship between these two claims.

God in Things and People: Commodity Fetishism and the Eucharist
4:30pm-5:45pm
Notre Dame
Cost: Free and open to the public
One of the pathologies that produce poverty in the current economic system is the simultaneous deification of things and reification of people: we invest divinity in material things, while people are treated as instruments toward profit. In this lecture, Dr. William T. Cavanaugh, DePaul University, will explore the Eucharist as an antidote to this idolatry. The Eucharist provides a better, sacramental way of seeing God’s presence in the material world, while simultaneously offering an identification of people, especially the poor, with God in Christ.
