St. Felix Hosts Mass for the Sick
12:30pm-2:00pm
Mass for the Sick and Troubled is held the third Saturday of each month at St. Felix Catholic Center, 1280 Hitzfield Street, Huntington, IN 46750. The Rosary starts at 12:30 p.m. and Mass is at 1:00 p.m. Blessed Father Solanus Casey holds special significance for St. Felix and the Fort Wayne-South Bend Diocese because he lived for a time at St. Felix Friary in Huntington, Indiana. During his years at St. Felix, Solanus became known for his humble service, deep compassion, and spiritual counsel, touching countless lives through his ministry at the friary door. His presence and witness at St. Felix have left a lasting spiritual legacy in the local Catholic community, inspiring ongoing devotion and encouraging the faithful to embody the virtues of humility, hospitality, and unity that he so beautifully modeled. His example continues to shape the spiritual identity of the Diocese and serves as a reminder of the transforming power of simple, faithful service. Solanus Casey lived a life marked by simplicity, suffering, and quiet faithfulness. As a Capuchin Franciscan friar, he was ordained a simplex priest and assigned primarily as a porter, welcoming visitors at the monastery door. By the world’s standards, his role seemed insignificant. Yet God used that doorway to touch thousands of lives. Father Solanus Casey instructed the other friars to provide food, famously saying, “They are hungry; get them some soup and sandwiches”. On February 21st before the Mass for the Sick and Troubled, soup will be served, followed by Rosary at 12:30 p.m. and Mass at 1:00 p.m.

A Lenten Journey of Music
7:00pm-9:00pm
On the cusp of Holy Week, the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross will host a special Lenten worship event featuring a musical and narrated journey to the Passion of Saint John. The service will be at 7 p.m. Friday, March 27, 2026, in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto, on Saint Mary’s campus, Notre Dame, Indiana. It will also be livestreamed on the Church of Our Lady of Loretto YouTube channel.
The evening will feature The Passion According to Saint John, a musical setting by Steven C. Warner, founder of the Notre Dame Folk Choir. The composition is dedicated to Karen Schneider Kirner, Steve’s associate of more than 20 years, who served as associate director of the folk choir and is now the assistant director of Liturgy for the Sisters of the Holy Cross.
This prayerful and lively service will feature 35 members of the Church of Loretto Choir joined by 20 alumni of the Notre Dame Folk Choir. Nine instrumentalists, including those on violin, cello, clarinet, flute, organ and guitar, will accompany the combined ensemble. The audience, too, will be invited to join in shared song with the ensemble.
Blending narration and song, the concert will also highlight the global ministries of the Sisters of the Holy Cross. Reflective texts and music will unfold alongside the Passion narrative, offering a witness to how Holy Cross sisters continue Christ’s ministry in their daily lives. Guests will be invited not only to contemplate the suffering and love revealed in the Passion of St. John but also to consider how they are called to embody Christ’s compassion and service in their daily lives.

Before the Mass for the Sick and Troubled, soup will be served, followed by Rosary at 12:30 p.m. and Mass at 1:00 p.m.
