Deacon Ervin Kuspa’s will celebrate the 46th anniversary of his ordination to the diaconate. He is the first married deacon in South Bend to be ordained. He was ordained on May 15, 1971 by Bishop Leo Pursley at St. Matthew Cathedral. A 9 a.m. Mass will be celebrated Oct. 29, at St. Hedwig Church with a brunch following in the Hedwig Memorial Center.
