Everyone has a role in the new evangelization.

The ways that we participate in it may look differently, but that’s okay because we all have been blessed with different gifts. In the Office of Communications for the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend, the role that we play in the new evangelization is simply: to tell the story.

The story that we tell has the same underlying message — that is, God infinitely loves each and every single person on this planet and is waiting with His arms open wide for an embrace of compassion and mercy if we would reach out to accept it.

We tell the story using different mediums.

Within Today’s Catholic, we write features on parishes, schools, ministries and Pope Francis. We share the weekly address of Bishop Kevin C. Rhoades through his column, not just in the newspaper, but within our website and via social media. We take pictures, capturing the faces and hands of our sisters and brothers in Christ as well as the places and the liturgies that make up our Catholic identity.

We strategize on how to promote ministries to the Catholic faithful so that they can take advantage of services around our Diocese. We plan promotions and awareness campaigns of events like the show Faustina: Messenger of Divine Mercy or 24 Hours for the Lord to allow for opportunities in which Catholics can draw nearer in their faith.

We are writers, editors, photographers, marketers, strategists, collaborators, website designers, promoters and social media aficionados — and our adventures are just beginning.

The Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend Office of Communications is hiring:

• A full time Editor to oversee content of the Today’s Catholic and to build community relations with parishes, schools and ministries of the Diocese. This position is in Fort Wayne.
• A full time News Writer/Photojournalist that will not only help cover events of the Diocese, but will also be instrumental in building our online visibility through webpages and social media. This position is in Fort Wayne.
• Today’s Catholic Writers and Photojournalists. These positions are contract help for the Today’s Catholic newspaper. We are looking for persons from all over the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend who would be interested in writing and/or taking pictures for the printed and online version of Today’s Catholic.
