Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, we have canceled this year’s Fall Festival at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Decatur. This would have been the 15th annual event. We are however, able to offer our $10,000 Cash Prize Raffle. $20/ticket, only 2000 tickets sold. To purchase tickets, contact the Parish Office at (260) 724-9159 or Stop by our SCRIP office in the Parish Hall after Mass on the weekends. Mass times are Saturday at 4:00pm, Sunday at 7:00am, 8:30am, and 11:00am. Tickets can also be purchased at Bill Miller’s Auto Sales in Decatur, or Eichhorn Jewelry in Decatur. Drawing will be Sunday, August 13, after the 11 a.m. Mass. If you’d like to mail in your payment for tickets, send check made out to St. Mary’s Fall Festival and put ‘raffle tickets’ in the memo along with your phone number. We will mail the ticket stubs to you for your records.

A sensory-friendly Mass provides a safe and comfortable setting for children and adults with sensory challenges, mental illness, or any kind of disability to feel engaged and experience Mass in a meaningful way with family members and caregivers. Catechesis of the Good Shepherd level 1 formation course

St. Pius X Church will be hosting a Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) level 1 formation course. The course will take place over 6 weekends: Sept. 25 – 26, Oct. 16 – 18, Nov. 13 – 15, Jan., 22 -24, Feb., 19-21., and March 26-28. The course times are: Friday 6-9 p.m., Saturday 9-5 p.m., Sunday 12-5 p.m. Participants will receive certification for Level 1 from the National Association of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd upon completion.
CGS is a practice of religious formation based on the educational method of Maria Montessori. CGS was originally developed in Rome by Sofia Cavalletti and Gianna Gobbi, over 60 years ago. CGS begins at the age of three and seeks to prepare a sacred, “hands on” space for children called the atrium. It is in the atrium where both the children and their catechist gather to hear, ponder, and celebrate the most essential mysteries of our faith as revealed in the Scriptures and the Liturgy.
