Theology on Tap – South Bend
Tim O’Malley is a professor of Theology at the University of Notre Dame.
Week after week, we go to Mass (or we’re supposed to). Inevitably, we will find that our participation in Mass is not always the most exciting thing. It can be boring. In this time together, we’ll see how boredom in our lives of prayer is not always something that we should escape. Boredom can be the very way that God is calling us toward a deeper contemplation of Eucharistic love. In addition to developing a spirituality of boredom, we’ll also suggest some concrete practices for us to use to pray the Mass even in the midst of boredom.
