Fort Wayne
Cost: Free
Drawing on his new book, University of Saint Francis Associate Professor Dr. Adam DeVille will speak on “Concrete Reforms to Rid the Church of Abuses of Sex and Power” in an upcoming lecture.
DeVille, who wrote the book “Everything Hidden Shall Be Revealed: Ridding the Church of Abuses of Sex and Power,” will speak at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 20 in the Parkview Physicians Group Auditorium of Achatz Hall of Science and John and Toni Murray Research Center, 2701 Spring St. The free lecture is presented by the USF Department of Philosophy and Theology and the USF School of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
An associate professor of theology at USF, DeVille will focus on the recovery of such deeply traditional institutions as real parish councils with voice and vote, diocesan synods with voice and vote determining budgets and election, and accountability of priests and bishops. Other factors, including the psychological, will also be discussed.
