Bishop Kevin C. Rhoades invites you to join him on Saturday, Oct. 16 for a kickoff Mass for Synod 2021-2023.

In the Catholic Church, a synod is a gathering that fosters unity between the bishops and Pope, provides counsel to the Pope, and studies questions concerning the Church in the world. (c.f. Code of Canon Law 342)

Synod 2021-2023 is a “Synod on synodality,” on learning to rely more fully on this consultation and discussion process. Pope Francis is asking every diocese to gather to be present with one another, listen, learn, and to grow closer to the Lord and His Church, especially those marginalized.
