Relic of St. John Paul II Visits Diocese
12:00pm-8:00pm
South Bend
The pilgrim relic of the blood of St. John Paul II will be available for veneration throughout the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend. This pilgrim relic has been entrusted to Mother Adela Galindo, foundress of the Servants of the Pierced Hearts of Jesus and Mary to bring on pilgrimage to the American continent. This blood was drawn during St. John Paul II’s hospitalization shortly before his death. It is encased in a unique reliquary shaped like the book of the Gospel with its pages open. All are welcome to make this pilgrimage. These sites are being hosted through the Office of Hispanic Ministry in the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend.
The first stop of the first class Relic of St John Paul II will be at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Fort Wayne. The Sisters of the Pierced Hearts of Jesus and Mary will be present with the relic at the noon Mass at the chapel and after the Mass will walk with the relic to the main Cathedral Church for veneration until 8 p.m.
