International Day of Peace gathering

The International Day of Peace offers an invitation to stand together for nonpolitical support of peace in our hearts, our homes, our community, nation and the world
Thursday, Sept. 21, from 12:15-12:45 p.m. on the Allen County Courthouse Green. At 12:15 p.m. Mayor Henry will read a proclamation, Jim Didier will lead singing, “Peace Before Us” for opening and “Peace is Flowing Like a River” at closing. Four speakers will offer a non political message of peace. At 12:45 p.m. church bells throughout the city will ring.
In 1981, the United Nations General Assembly unanimously adopted a resolution declaring September 21st of each year as International Day of Peace with the intention of having the entire world observe it.
