The Abbey of Gethsemani, the Trappist monastery where Thomas Merton was a monk, is nestled in the heart of the Bourbon Trail, the historical epicenter of bourbon production. Come renew your spirit on this pilgrimage for young adults that will explore the intersection of faith and culture, sacred and profane, spiritual and physical refreshment.
Highlights:
– Explore the history and spirits of the Bourbon Trail, with tours and tastings at local distilleries
– Pray with the monks at the Abbey of Gethsemani, the monastery of Thomas Merton
– Discover the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral in Bardstown, Kenctucky, the first Cathedral west of the Allegheny Mountains
– Refresh your spirit with time for prayer, reflection, and spiritual refreshment
Registration fee includes transportation from South Bend/Fort Wayne, lodging, preparation materials, activities and most meals. Must be at least 21 years old to participate.
