An information coffee and tour of the Christ Child clothing center will be Wednesday, May 9, at 9:30 a.m. at the Christ Child Center, 308 S. Scott St. (the former St. Patrick’s School in South Bend). Volunteers give three hours a week on Wednesday mornings from August to December providing new clothing to children in South Bend.

Last fall nearly 4,000 local children were clothed with new shoes, boots, pants, shirts, uniforms, coats, hats and gloves…and every child went home with a book.

Layettes are provided to infants born in local hospitals to moms meeting income guidelines. If a child dies at birth, an infant burial layette is provided.

Christ Child volunteers also provide tutoring and mentoring to students at St. Adalbert’s School.
