Bishop Luers to present Lessons and Carols
4:00pm-5:00pm
Fort Wayne
Bishop Luers High School will host a Festival of Lessons and Carols on Sunday, Dec. 16, at 4 p.m. in the Chapel of Saint Francis of Assisi.
The Festival of Lessons and Carols is a service of Scripture and song that dates to the late 19th century. In this service, the faithful listen to nine Scripture lessons, which recount the Fall, the promise of a Messiah, the Incarnation, and the Great Commission to preach the Good News. Each lesson is followed by a carol or other song that reflects on the lesson’s message and a brief prayer.
The Bishop Luers chamber ensemble, directed by Kristopher Andorfer, leads the music.
Lessons and Carols follows the Bishop Luers Middle School Art Fair from 3-4 p.m. Artwork of fifith-, sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade feeder school students will be displayed throughout the front lobby of the school. All are invited.
