Join us Tuesday, July 8th, as we reflect on how the imagination is a Taste of Heaven, enabling us to long for and envision realities beyond the visible world. We will explore what God intends for our imagination, what our imagination tells us about God, and practicing imaginative prayer. We will also discuss the cultural pitfalls we face that often distort and corrupt our imagination, especially as we age. We will conclude by considering appropriate boundaries for ourselves to cultivate a healthy and holy imagination. By reclaiming childlike wonder at our capacity for creativity, we endeavor together to renew our appreciation for our imagination as God intended.

On Tuesday, July 15th, Fr. Royce Gregerson will explore how music has shaped the foundations and practices of the Church, as well as the history, origin, and importance of music found in the Scriptures. Music is well known to shape the lives, thoughts, and emotions of humanity, but just how exactly does it heal the soul and give us insights into heaven? How can it be utilized to bring us closer to God? Together we will learn the answers to these questions, by navigating topics of music and wellness, music in spiritual practice, and the implications of music in current culture. Lastly, we will investigate why and how certain music is utilized in liturgy. Come join us to discover how music is truly a Taste of Heaven.

On Tuesday, July 22nd, Dr. Alex Giltner will reflect on philosophy as a Taste of Heaven, leading us in the pursuit of Truth. In our world today, modern intellectual errors like relativism, materialism, and more abound. And they affect everything around us – from the most universal societal levels, to the most seemingly mundane activities of our day-to-day lives. But not only are these errors false, they are specifically opposed (one may even argue designed to blind us) to what will truly make us happy. Catholic philosophy reveals that not only are we made for Truth, Goodness, and Beauty – only a life lived in pursuit of these transcendent realities can ultimately bring us fulfillment.
