Bishop Kevin C. Rhoades invites all to attend a Mass of Healing in Remembrance of the Miami Tribe on Saturday, Oct. 2 at 5 p.m. at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. This Mass marks the 175th anniversary of the forced removal of the Miami Tribe from Fort Wayne and the Wabash River valley in 1846. Cathedral Square in Fort Wayne, home of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, is burial ground to members of the Miami Tribe, some of whom have since been relocated.
Following Mass, all are welcome next door to the Diocesan Museum, 1103 S. Calhoun St., for an exhibit commemorating the Miami community. The exhibit will remain open through Oct. 30. Diocesan Museum is free and open to the public. For more information, visit diocesefwsb.org/museum.

Eighth annual Walk to Remember for Perinatal and Infant Loss

This FREE memorial event is for families who have experienced the loss of a pregnancy at any gestation or the loss of an infant.
Activities include:
A one mile memorial walk around the park following a banner with your baby’s name on it.
A Resource Tent: Filled with information on many area organizations that specialize in memorial items, support groups, and so much more.
Chalk Art: A wonderful activity for the entire family to draw on a section of the 1 mile path to remember your baby.
Family Craft: This year’s craft we’ll be creating a personalized candle – a great item to have in preparation for the Global Wave of Light which occurs on October 15 @ 7pm; to light a candle and remember all babies who have left us too soon.
– Family Photography: We have beautiful props and a professional photographer capture your family – a keepsake that can be added to the ways you continue to remember and honor your angel baby’s memory.
– Refreshments: We are always overwhelmed with our donation from Prairie Farms and other local companies who provide milk, juice, coffee, hot cocoa, snacks, and baked goods.

The Eucharistic Miracles of the World Exhibi, from the Vatican, with quotes by Blessed Carlo Acutis, will be available for viewing on Saturday, October 17, from 9 am to 2 pm at St. Felix Catholic Center, 1280 Hitzfield Street, Huntington IN, beginning with Mass at 9 a.m.. Eucharistic Adoration will be available in the church following Mass for the duration of the exhibit, which can be viewed in the hall under the church. Benediction and Reposition of the Blessed Sacrament at 2 p.m. Visitors may choose to stay for a talk by Father Joseph Tuscan, OFM Cap, followed by Mid-Afternoon Prayer and the Chaplet of Divine Mercy.

An interpreter from Community Services All Deaf (CSAD) provides ASL (American Sign Language). St. Matthew Cathedral Parish and the Diocesan Deaf Ministry offer these monthly Masses (on the second and fourth Sundays) and encourage people to extend the invitation to family and friends who are deaf. Surviving Divorce is a twelve-week program featuring thirty-minute DVD sessions each week. Surviving Divorce was created to bring hope and healing to those who have experienced the pain and loneliness of a broken marriage. It is for the newly separated and divorced and those still struggling with issues many years later. It will help them find answers to their questions, restore hope, and begin authentic healing.
