An interpreter for the deaf will sign in American Sign Language (ASL) at the 11 a.m. Mass on Christmas Day at St. Matthew Cathedral in South Bend. The Diocesan Office for Deaf Ministry and St. Matthew Parish partner to provide an interpreter from Community Services All Deaf (CSAD) for special holidays and feast days in addition to the regularly scheduled 11 a.m. Masses on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month.

The Diocese is hosting a twelve-week support group for divorced men and women at the Archbishop Noll Center. This group will meet on Monday evenings from 7-9 p.m. beginning January 7 and continues through March 25. The support group will feature Ascension Press’ “Surviving Divorce” DVD series which covers topics such as shock and grief, anger and forgiveness, money issues, helping children cope and annulment and remarriage. It is based on the teachings of the Catholic Church and is open to anyone who needs comfort, counsel and clarity after divorce. The cost of the program is $20 and includes a Personal Guide for each participant. The Archbishop Noll Center is located at 915 S. Clinton Street, Fort Wayne 46802 (corner of Washington & Clinton.) Bishop Luers High School Show Choirs will host Cabaret Knight on Sunday, Jan. 13. Doors open at 4 p.m. Dinner begins at 4:30 p.m. and entertainment at 5 p.m.
Cabaret Knight is an event to showcase the talents of students and to raise funds towards the annual operating budget. The combined choirs — Minstrels, Reigning Knights and Knight Stars —consist of 65 singers and dancers, instrumentalists and technical crew. Cabaret Knight supports these groups throughout their competition season and to host, annually each spring, the longest running show choir competition in the United States.
The evening includes the inaugural 2019 Bishop Luers Show Choir performances of the Reigning Knights, Knight Stars and the Minstrels. If you cannot make it to a competition this is a great way to experience our show choirs and meet our wonderful students.
Tickets include a pasta dinner, dessert and water, tea and coffee. Soda will be sold separately. Pre-sale tickets are available to purchase until Jan. 7.
Pre-Sale tickets are $15 for ages 13 and older; $8 for children ages 4-12; and free to children ages 3 and younger. Tickets bought day of event increase to $20 for 13 and older, $10 for ages 4-12, children younger than 3 are free.

On Thursday, Jan. 31, Margaret Pfeil, Ph.D. of the St. Peter Claver Catholic Worker Community and the University of Notre Dame Department of Theology will speak on the Servant of God, Dorothy Day and the Eucharist as part of the Diocesan Catholic Social Doctrine Winter/Spring Speaker Series at Holy Cross College Driscoll Auditorium.
