Screenagers: Growing Up in the Digital Age
6:15pm-8:00pm
Fort Wayne
Cost: free
Screenagers is a movie targeted towards parents and young people ages 10 years old and up. The average kid spends 6.5 hours a day looking at screens. Even for parents who regulate and limit their children’s screen time, it still plays a role in the development of the child. This movie explores what type of an impact screen time, media, video games, and smart phones has on young people. Screenagers reveals how tech time impacts kids’ development and offers solutions on how adults can empower kids to best navigate the digital world and find balance. The movie is a very sympathetic, sane, and practical look at the way millions of teens are struggling with phones and games and technology in general. The license for Screenagers has been paid and there will be no charge to attend, so please invite your neighbors to join us. This movie does not try to demonize screen time, but simply equips parents with the tools to understand and find balance.

Reading Raphael in the Library of Pope Julius II
4:30pm-5:45pm
Fort Wayne
Around 1508, Raphael, one of the great masters of Italian Renaissance art, began working on a magnificent cycle of paintings for Pope Julius II — arguably the most important art patron at the time. Could the meaning of the frescoes, located in the Stanza della Segnatura, have been influenced by the use of the room in which they were painted? Join Tracy Cosgriff, Ph.D., for an enlightening examination of the pope’s private library in the Vatican Palace, with thrilling insights and new discoveries concerning the books that were once shelved alongside Raphael’s classic compositions.
The free lecture, which includes visuals and concludes with a question and answer period, is open to the public.

The Knights of Columbus will be honoring the Catholic men who first brought the Knights to Fort Wayne/ Northeast Indiana in the late 1800’s. The Charter lists 36 men, and the Council was the second formed in the state of Indiana. In honor of almost 120 years of continuous service to the K of C principles of charity, unity, fraternity and patriotism — a genealogy research team was formed to learned about the lives and deeds of these Catholic men.
