Divine Mercy Funeral Home Named ‘First’ in Fort Wayne
Each year, residents in the Fort Wayne area vote for their favorite local businesses, organizations, and attractions in the Fort Wayne Newspapers Readers’ Choice awards contest. In the 2025 awards, the diocese’s own Divine Mercy Funeral Home was voted “first place” for their devoted service.
Divine Mercy Funeral Home has two locations, one in Fort Wayne and the other in Huntertown. At both of these locations, staff members aim to comfort mourning families by properly honoring their deceased loved ones.
This achievement is not the first for the funeral home.

Casey Miller, executive director of Divine Mercy Funeral Homes, said of the award, “The entire staff of Divine Mercy Funeral Home is honored to have been voted first place in the funeral home category for the Fort Wayne and surrounding area.”
He told Today’s Catholic, “We won first place last year, so this is now the second year that we’ve won.”
He continued: “It says a lot about the staff of Divine Mercy first and foremost. Without care and attention to detail of every funeral and every family, we wouldn’t have won this award.”
Miller also noted, “Divine Mercy Funeral Home is available to people of any faith or no faith, not just Catholics. We strive to emphasize the fact that you do not need to be Catholic to request the services of Divine Mercy if you have a death in the family.”
“When the family enters the funeral home, they are immediately greeted by our professional greet staff. They are escorted to exactly where they wish to visit, so it is really the attention to detail that we have here. It is truly amazing,” explained the executive director.
In conclusion, Miller told Today’s Catholic: “Diocese-owned funeral homes are extremely rare. We are the fifth in the country. We’re so blessed to have it in Fort Wayne, and you can see by how the public voted us number one. We [Divine Mercy Funeral Home] are truly blessed to have this community.”
