Deacon John Shannon to be ordained May 22 in Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. — Deacon John E. Shannon, FSSP, son of Ronald and Marilyn Shannon of Fort Wayne, will be ordained a priest of the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter in Lincoln, Neb., on Saturday, May 22. Bishop Fabian W. Bruskewitz of Lincoln will confer orders on Shannon who will offer his first Mass the following day, Pentecost Sunday, in the recently consecrated chapel of Our Lady of Guadalupe Seminary, the Chapel of Ss. Peter and Paul. The fraternity’s charism is the celebration of the Mass and sacraments in the extraordinary form.

As Father John Shannon, FSSP, he will celebrate his first Solemn High Mass in Fort Wayne on Sunday, May 30. The Mass, offered in the extraordinary form, will be held at St. Peter Church, 518 E. DeWald St., at 11:30 a.m.
