Jesuit priest and martyr Blessed Miguel Pro Juarez is pictured just before his execution by firing squad Nov. 23, 1927, in Mexico. Though he did not support the armed insurrection against the Mexican government’s anti-Catholic actions, he was arrested and executed without trial.
